Gear head SPG07

Gear head SPG07

The SPG07 is a compact planetary gearhead from Orbray, designed to deliver high precision and reliability in applications requiring low speed and high torque in a small form factor. The gear housing is made of metal and uses a durable steel gear system, which provides long life even in continuous operation.

The SPG07 is designed to be combined with micromotors in the CMS07 and BMS07 series, and is available in several gear ratios with reduction ratios from 4.71:1 up to 493.93:1. Efficiency ranges from 85% at one stage to 52% at four stages, making it easy to adapt the gear ratio to the application's speed and torque requirements.

The gear unit can handle a continuous torque of up to 10 mNm and an intermittent torque of up to 20 mNm. It is equipped with sintered sleeve bearings in the output shaft and is designed to handle both radial and axial loads. Backlash in the shaft is kept at a very low level – with a radial clearance of ≤0.03 mm and an axial clearance of ≤0.3 mm – which contributes to precise and stable operation.

The SPG07 is suitable for use in temperatures between -10°C and +60°C and has a maximum recommended input speed of 12,000 rpm. With its low weight (between 2 and 3.5 grams depending on configuration) and short length (7.4–14.1 mm), it is perfect for integration into miniaturized systems where space is limited but performance cannot be compromised.

Thanks to its robust construction and high precision, the SPG07 is an excellent choice for applications in robotics, automation, medical technology and other fields where compactness and power transmission are crucial.
