Gear head SPG10

Gear head SPG10

The SPG10 is a robust and versatile planetary gearhead from Orbray, developed to be combined with micromotors in the CMS10 and BMS10 series. The gear housing is made of metal and the gear system is made of steel, which provides high durability and stability in continuous operation. The design is optimized for compact integration with high performance in miniaturized systems.

The gearhead is available with a wide range of reduction ratios – from 3.6:1 up to 493.93:1 – allowing the motor speed and torque to be tailored to specific application requirements. Depending on the number of stages, the efficiency varies from 85% for one stage to 52% for four stages. The direction of rotation is maintained throughout the gear stages.

The SPG10 can handle a continuous torque of up to 50 mNm and an intermittent torque of up to 100 mNm. The output shaft is fitted with sintered sleeve bearings and the gear is dimensioned to handle radial loads of up to 3 N and axial loads of up to 1 N. The shaft play is minimal, with radial play of ≤0.03 mm and axial play of ≤0.3 mm, providing stable and precise motion transmission.

The gear length varies between 10.5 mm and 19.6 mm depending on the number of stages, with a total weight from 5.8 to 9.7 grams. The gear is designed to operate in temperatures between -10 °C and +60 °C and is recommended for input speeds up to 10,000 rpm.

The SPG10 is an excellent choice for precision applications in areas such as robotics, automation, precision mechanics and instrumentation, where compactness, high torque and reliability are crucial.
