Gear head SPG12

Gear head SPG12

The SPG12 is a high-performance planetary gearhead from Orbray, designed to deliver efficient power transmission in compact formats. It is particularly suited for use with micromotors in the CMS12 and BMS12 series, where high torque, low speed and high precision are required.

With a robust metal housing and steel gears, the SPG12 can handle both continuous and intermittent loads of up to 100 mNm and 200 mNm respectively. The gear is equipped with sintered sleeve bearings in the output shaft and can withstand radial loads of up to 4 N (25 N depending on conditions) and axial loads of up to 2 N. The shaft play is kept to a minimum, which provides stable and accurate operation.

The SPG12 offers a wide range of reduction ratios – from 3.5:1 to a whopping 509:1 – to meet various speed reduction and torque increase requirements. Gear efficiency ranges from 85% at one stage to 52.2% at four stages. Gear lengths range from 14.2 mm to 25.7 mm depending on configuration, with weights ranging from 11.6 to 19.1 grams.

With a recommended maximum input speed of 8000 rpm and a temperature range of -10°C to +60°C, the SPG12 is ready for stable operation in a variety of environments. It can be easily integrated with both Orbray coreless and brushless motors, making it ideal for applications in automation, medical technology, precision engineering and robotics.

The SPG12 combines compactness, durability and performance – perfect for systems where precision and power must be delivered in a minimal space.
