Gear head SPG16
The SPG16 is a powerful and compact planetary gearhead from Orbray, specifically developed to be combined with micromotors in the CMS16 and BMS16 series. Thanks to its robust metal construction with steel gears, the gear is optimized for applications where high torque and reliable performance are required in limited spaces.
The SPG16 offers a wide range of reduction ratios – from 3.6:1 to 107:1 – allowing for great flexibility depending on the desired gear ratio. The gear is available in up to three stages and delivers high efficiency: 85% at one stage, 72.3% at two stages and 61.4% at three stages. The direction of rotation remains unchanged throughout the gear.
With a continuous permissible torque of up to 200 mNm and an intermittent torque of up to 400 mNm, the SPG16 is well suited for heavier micromechanical applications, such as in robotics, automation, machine tools and electric actuators. The gear unit is equipped with sintered sleeve bearings on the output shaft and can handle radial loads of up to 4 N (or 25 N depending on the load point) and axial loads of up to 2 N.
Thanks to carefully manufactured components, the SPG16 offers low axial and radial backlash (≤0.3 mm and ≤0.03 mm respectively), ensuring high precision and stable operation. The gear length varies between 14.2 mm and 21.8 mm depending on the number of stages, and the weight from 11.6 to 16.6 grams. The recommended maximum speed of the input shaft is 6000 rpm and the operating temperature range is -10°C to +60°C.
The SPG16 is the perfect solution for those who need a compact, precise and powerful gear head in applications with high demands on torque and reliability.
