Locking Solenoids

DC self-holding solenoids with permanent magnets, also known as holding solenoids, are a type of solenoids that combine an electromagnetic solenoid with permanent magnets to enable energy-saving locking. When an electrical pulse is applied to the solenoid coil, the piston closes, and the permanent magnets hold it in the closed position even after the pulse has ended. To release the piston, a low-current pulse with reverse polarity is required, and a return spring – which is standard on the BLM0 model – can facilitate opening. This technology makes the holding solenoid particularly suitable for applications that require continuous locking or battery operation. Standard voltages are 12V and 24V DC, with other voltages available on request. 200 mm cables are fitted as standard, but the length can be customised. Mounting options, piston coupling and push rod can also be customised as required.
