Gear head SSG15
The SSG15 is a compact, high-precision spur gear head from Orbray, designed for applications where low noise, high accuracy and reliable power transmission are essential. Compatible with both coreless and brushless motors in the CMS16 and BMS16 series, the gear is well suited for use in robotics, automation, medical technology and other advanced precision mechanics.
The gear housing is made of metal and the gears are made of steel, which provides excellent durability and mechanical strength. The output shaft is fitted with sintered sleeve bearings and can withstand radial loads of up to 4 N and axial loads of up to 2 N. Backlash in the shaft is kept to a minimum, with radial play of ≤0.03 mm and axial play of ≤0.2 mm, ensuring precise and stable operation.
The SSG15 offers several gear ratios: 29:1, 49:1, 71:1, 94:1, 198:1 and 302:1. Depending on the configuration, the gear has 3 to 5 stages, with efficiencies ranging from 73% down to 59%. The direction of rotation can vary depending on the number of stages. The gear length ranges from 9.6 mm to 13.6 mm and the weight is between 8.9 and 10.2 grams.
The SSG15 is designed for a maximum input speed of 6000 rpm and operates within a temperature range of -10 °C to +60 °C. The maximum allowable torque is 24 mNm in continuous operation (15 mNm at gear ratio ≤29:1) and up to 60 mNm intermittent loads (30 mNm at ≤29:1).
With its combination of compactness, high precision and quiet operation, the SSG15 is an optimal solution for space-critical applications that require accurate and reliable torque transmission in a miniature format.
